Nemanja is a Founding Partner and Attorney at law at Đukić Novaković Law Firm. He primarily focuses on Dispute Resolution, especially in connection with International Commercial Law. He devoted a considerable part of his academic and professional career to the theory and practice of international public and private law, with special emphasis on domestic and international commercial arbitration. So far he has represented clients in the fields of Company law, Insurance, International Sale of Goods, Protection of Human Rights, IT Law and telecommunications. During his career, he has been involved in various branches of the legal professions and has worked as an assistant to a renowned domestic arbitrator on several international investment disputes.
His interest for the legal profession increased somewhere in the middle of his bachelor program when he became involved in the activities of the Moot Court Center of the Faculty of Law – University of Novi Sad, of which he was a member until 2017. During his studies he participated in seven prestigious International Moot Court competitions in the fields of International Law, International Commercial Arbitration, International Trade and Foreign Investments and International Criminal Law, both as a competitor and as a team coach. Among numerous achievements and awards, the most significant ones were finishing as the second overall Respondent at the prestigious Telders International Law Moot Court Competition held in the Hague (the Netherlands) as well as receiving an Honorable Mention for the prestigious Frederic Eisenmann Award given to the best teams at Willem C. Vis International The Commercial Arbitration Moot, held annually in Vienna (Austria), which is considered to be the largest and most significant moot court competition in the field of International Commercial Arbitration. Among the many worthy achievements of the teams he has coached, perhaps the most outstanding is the award for the Best Written Memorial on behalf of the Respondent before the International Court of Justice at the Telders International Law Moot Court Competition. Although he is no longer actively involved in preparing teams, he still often participates as a judge or arbitrator in moot court competitions held in The Hague, Vienna and Belgrade.
Nemanja is a member of the Bar Association of Vojvodina and the Bar Association of Serbia. He is fluent in English and has a basic knowledge of the German language.
